She's Alabama country, He's New York City, thrown together by an inheritance they both desperately need. *** In Martin Chapman’s will, his final request is a peculiar one. Upon the day of their marriage, his caregiver Lily Meyers and his grandson Bryce Fowler will become joint beneficiaries of his entire estate, which includes the Chapman Quarter Horse Ranch.

There’s only one problem, Lily and Bryce have never met. For the past three years, Lily and her five-year-old son Joey have lived on the ranch with Martin, never knowing they might inherit anything. Will Lily uproot her son from the only stable home he’s ever known, or will she marry a man she doesn’t know to secure her son’s future?

Bryce’s decision isn’t an easy one either. Will he leave the fast pace and bright city lights of New York City to move to the sleepy little town in Trinity, Alabama, or will the cowboy life and Lily prove challenging enough to chase him back to his comfort zone?

This was the first book I read by Debra Lynn Collins. I finished it in two days. It had an interesting start to it. They were all meeting in a lawyer office for the reading of a will. The family of a man who had past and the man caregiver. His kids iheritated the money not the ranch. His grandson Bryce who he had not seen in 14 years and the caregiver would inherit the ranch after a year. But this would only happen if they married in 3 monthes and lived on the ranch for ayear. Neither Lily the caregiver or Bryce the grandson were thrilled about the arrangement they thought of it as a business deal. When they got to the ranch Joey Lily son took a liking to Bryce. Bryce and Lily took it a day at a time. Wade the foreman of the ranch took a disliking to Byrce and tried to harm him a few times. Byrce started to learn the cowboy ways and even how to dress. He saved Lily from some mishaps. Their love for each other grew over the three monthes tell it blossomed. That put a bigger rut between Bryce and Wade. Because Wade was in love with LIly but she treated him like her big brother. Wade and Bryce had a big fight and Bryce accidently hurt Lily and both men felt bad about it. They mended their way somewhat. But Wade still tried to get back at Bryce through Sherry ann Bryce mom. She told Lily an awful LIE about Bryce. Which hinder Lily and Bryce engagement but Bryce and Wade ended something the waters. Bryce even went back to the city to talk to his folks. The wedding went off Joey got a daddy and Lily got someone to love her for always. Now I’m onto another one by this author as well.

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance…It indeed has a magical fairy tale ending. The best kind when the man always gets

I love to read books where marriages set up for convenience turns into the fairy tale ending. And this book did just that. It is a wonderful relaxing read….I hated to put it down. You will definitely enjoy.

Sorry. Spoilers ahead.

There’s something about the marriage of convenience plot that piques my interest. Perhaps it’s because we live in a society where arranged marriages aren’t the norm, and it’s interesting to see how a couple with seemingly nothing in common are thrown together by circumstance (aka the plot machinations of the author), and discover there is some commonality between them after all.

Beautiful Story

I love this book!!!! After I started it I could NOT put it down. I would find myself laughing out loud one minute and tears in my eyes the next. It was such wonderful writing I felt like I was there in Trinity. I was sad when the book was over but anxiously waiting for the next in the series.

You’ve got to read this one!

I truly enjoyed reading this delightful modern day ‘arranged marriage’ story about single mother Lily from Alabama and Bryce, the Manhattan-based playboy grandson of Lily’s late boss/friend, Martin Chapman. Martin left his ranch to both Lily and Bryce with certain strings attached. Watching them work toward a HEA ending was fun. There is brief mild violence and a few emphatic kisses but this is a clean plot and I’d recommend it for all but the youngest romance readers. I will look for other books by Debra Lynn Collins.

This book is precious. Great love story.

Sweet story, great complication set up at the beginning that you want to see how it turns out. I really got into the dilemma of the lead characters. The girl, especially, was put into a difficult situation that any of us would struggle to face and I admired her devotion to her young son. (I enjoyed when the boy, Joey, was in any scenes too.) This is a good, clean romance, too by the way. I’m baffled by some who say it’s not Christian or has bad words it in. It does not. And given the plethora of smutty romance books out there, seeing more like this is a breath of fresh air yet still highlighting the realism that yes, men and women can be attracted to each other. It was also neat to see various characters have to decide between doing the right thing or not. Great novel, and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Loved the characters in this book!

But the author description of one of the characters I didn’t like always saying she swaddled and her plump arms, each time she mentioned this character she used these words, it was very irritating to read, it was unnecessary to indicate that the character was fat. Shameful!

Sweet love story

Lily Meyers has been the caretaker of Martin Chapman for the last three years. She lives on the ranch with her son Joey. When Martin dies, the entire family is shocked and angered to learn that Martin left his entire estate to Lily and his grandson Bryce Fowler. The only stipulation is that they marry within three months and live together for a year. It is a huge amount and Lily feels that she needs to do this for her son Joey. Bryce decides to agree to see what the girl is up to. It is a very sweet love story.

A great read

I read this awhile ago but remember quite well. I just finished the second book in the series and I must say that both books are great reads. The storylines are good and I fell in love with the characters. My emotions were pulled every direction. I look forward to reading the next books in the series!

I simply love love loved this book! One of the best romance novel I have read in a long long time. I loved all the characters in this book. This book was a christian book that showed that you don’t have to hit anyone over the head with Bible, for them to want to get to know about God. Kindness, can move people. She got Bryce to go to church without preaching. The town welcome him, treating him like he was one of them. Loved Sara, because she reminded me of one of my aunts. This book is like the books I used to read when I was younger. Ms Collins, I hope hope you write a story about, Wade. I loved him too!
