I usually order the regular version which is twice the size of this 1.9 ounce serving. The only reason I decided to try this was low sodium. But its very small too me. I prefer the larger version that isnt low sodium. Flavors the same and tastes good on a cold day. But the size is too small for me!

Nice flavor, No Gluten, cooks FASTER than some other McDougall instant soups, thinner than other split pea one

I had previously ordered and enjoyed the Split Pea with Barley by Dr. McD. I ordered this one this time because I saw it was lighter in sodium.

Convenient but average

I bought a whole case (10) containers of this soup. I am gluten free and it was gluten free and I felt we could get along. I have eaten 3 of the containers of soup and it is quite good. Not excellent, mind you, but adequate for a quick meal, or to take to work for a quick lunch. I will probably get tired of split pea before I finish all the containers, but this company does have other soups I might try. I sure wish I could have it with crackers, however, but being gluten free that is not possible. But, short of a homemade soup, this one is okay. I would recommend it if asked. And, I will probably buy it again next year.

I’ve been buying and eating this tasty, easy to prepare and feel-good soup like they’re gonna stop making at their factory…they aren’t.

It’s good soup.

It’s good soup – cooks up in the microwave fast and easy with fairly low sodium and I’ve never had an issue with the quality of the product. Good flavor, not too salty. Tastes like what it is – split pea soup. Used to get similar products and Trader Joes and Vons but they don’t have it anymore so I’ve been buying this product online for a while now. It’s not the cheapest per cup, but it’s the best I can find.

… are handy for eating when I do not feel like cooking.

This split pea soup is surprisingly good. It’s healthy and is low in sodium. The flavor of the soup is mild but tastes great. It’s nearly as good as fresh homemade split pea soup. I just add very hot water to the container, stir, re-cover and let it sit for several minutes and it’s ready. I prefer that to the microwave method. Sometimes I add some dry Tuscan herbs to add to the flavor. It’s also good with a bit of olive oil stirred in just before serving. I keep several of these in the pantry for a quick and easy to prepare light meal.

Tastes great and it’s healthy!

Except for decently high sodium (like every soup) this is really good for you. Very high in fibre and protein. It also has a really nice smokey flavour. It reminds me of French Canadian split pea soup but with green peas and no ham.

Wow! Eats Like a Meal!

This is the first Dr. McDougall’s product I have tried, and I have to say that I’m quite impressed. In college I lived on little cups of Ramen noodles, but since they are so bad for you, I wouldn’t consider eating them now. These are approximately the same size cups as the cups of Ramen I used to eat, but this soup thickens up into a wonderful pea stew after waiting the prescribed time period (as opposed to the watery concoction in with the Ramen noodles). I got extremely full eating one of these for lunch, and it held me for the rest of the day. I really enjoyed the flavor as well. I will be trying other varieties of Dr. McDougall’s soups and encourage anyone who is looking for a healthful and convenient meal to do so as well.
