I bought this Dr. McDougall’s Right Foods Vegan Black Bean & Lime Soup, 3.4-Ounce Cups (Pack of 6) via Subscribe and Save after reading some of the great reviews… We’ll be ordering these again. The taste and texture is similar to a store brand’s version we used to buy from our local grocery store. This doesn’t taste like it’s healthier or lighter, in our opinions but the facts are all around better. We’ve been having it just as the instructions direct us to cook it and like it just the way it is, no added seasoning necessary. Good kick of lime, subtle but noticeable after a couple of bites. Thick enough to enjoy solo or add to rice or quinoa. The nutrition facts and ingredients make this a delicious and guilt-free comfort food. Protein and fiber packed! Sodium isn’t nearly as bad (660 mg) as many others are for it’s serving size. Product of the USA, gluten free, non-GMO, and I love that we can pronounce the ingredients. I purchased in July, 2016 and ours had a best by date of September 23, 2017. Super easy to make, by just adding hot water. Another two recommendations we have for easy, healthy and satisfying lunches (we love) are… My husband’s favorite microwave option for lunch at work.

Good tasting and I’ll order again. However, I have tried cooking several of Dr. McDougall’s soups in the microwave and they always boil over and make a mess. I have lowered the microwave cooking temp and still they boil over. I set the soup cup inside a regular glass soup boil to catch the boil over, but still you lose some of the soup broth. The best way to cook the cup of soup is to boil the water and pour directly into the cup of soup up to the fill line. Then close the soup cup lid and let it set for at least 5 min–8 min is better.

"Dr. McDougall" if your listening…

Tasted good but salty. I would give it more stars except I do not like that its so high in salt. I feel they could do better and cut that salt in half.I also do not like that they put that they say its two servings when clearly it is not. It isnt a sharing or have now save some for later type of thing. Clearly they know its one serving and are calling it two to hide the salt issue. So, “Dr. McDougall” if your listening…More spice less salt and real serving size info!!

This is my favorite of the lower sodium versions of Dr. McDougall soups. The soup is thick and the beans are broken up. Obvious cilantro taste. (I don’t like cilantro so it may stick out more to me.) Very good and easy to make. Takes about 10-12 minutes for everything to be fully hydrated. Great source of iron and fiber! Added nutritional info below: Calories: 170 Fat: 1g Sodium: 360mg Total Carb: 33g (9g fiber, 1g sugar) Protein: 8g Vitamin A: 2%, Vitamin C: 16%, Calcium: 4%, Iron: 23%

This tastes very good and there is bold flavor for it being a low-sodium vegan noodle soup. The preparation is very easy if you add boiling water and cover the soup, letting it stand and stirring it a few times, it will cook itself after several minutes. You could microwave this too if you’d prefer to. The cups are small but there is not another vegan noodle soup / cup noodles and this does not have tons of sodium or any MSG. I recommend trying it if you need a mild vegan noodle soup that is easy to prepare. I have tried a few different kinds of cup soups from Dr.. McDougall’s and this is probably the best one.

I wish I could give a 4 and a half stars!

I ordered this and received it with shipping errors so I only received 1 container of noodles; amazon quickly resolved this and gave me a refund. The good news is that I had the opportunity to try the product before dedicating again to a 6 pack. I saw in the reviews that some people complained about it being too salty or too flavorful; but you can control the amount of flavor packet you put in. I put in two-thirds of a packet and the flavor was just perfect for me. I’ve been looking for easy dairy-free meal option and I love chicken soup so this is perfect for a vegan diet! I will definitely order this because it is delicious and I can agree with the ingredients!

High protein, high fiber, with a terrific smoky flavor and overall smooth texture. This is one of the best soups I’ve ever eaten. I’ve never been excited about the idea of “split pea soup” (doesn’t sound good to me). But I gave this soup a try based on the Amazon reviews and was not disappointed.
