Great Resource! Needs Editing…
This is a must have for anybody really trying to follow the A Blood Type diet. Planning meals from this book is so much more relaxed than trying to amend other recipes to fit the blood type diet. It has made grocery shopping and meal planning much easier for me. Plus, the recipes are delicious. The Veggie Lasagna is the best veggie lasagna I have ever had! And some of the meals seem so indulgent compared to how I was trying to follow the blood type diet on my own – especially the Herb-Crusted Turkey Breast, Stone-Fruit Salad, and Fish Tacos. Major props to Chef Kristin O’Conner for developing such healthy, delicious meals!
Four Stars for Junky Photos
This book contains a great amount of recipes. Starting the blood type diet can be confusing, and it’s tiring to constantly reference the “good” list of foods when cooking or meal planning. This takes care of that problem. The pictures are pretty lackluster, so I’m not raving about them, but the recipes themselves are solid. There’s a section for main dishes, side dishes, snacks and drinks.

There are many excellent recipes in this cookbook. My goal was to reduce chronic inflammation problems and, coupled with Dr. D’Adamo’s supplement Scienca, I have had noticeable success. Aging is what it is and nothing will eradicate all aches and pains, but I find this approach helpful. I do wish the book had a table of contents/index with page numbers so I could easily locate recipes rather than have to flip through sections time and again to find them. At some point, I’m going to sit down and tab with Post-It notes all of my favorites, a bit tedious and doomed to get raggedy over time. As long as I’m asking, a binder approach to remove a recipe while cooking, laminated to protect from inevitable damage, would be great. Also, I would like a per-serving caloric count, rather that just a “serves 4” or how ever many. The desserts are health conscious, so don’t expect the “to die for” (yes, there’s a literal as well as a figurative side to that expression) exquisiteness from heavy creams, refined sugars, Julia Child-volumes of butter, etc. Still, there are some treats to be had for those who are used to a fixed focus on overall health. Just so the salient point is not missed by my wish list – the recipes are worth the purchase of this book, and then some.
These recipes are DELISH
The recipes are so delish, but they take a lot of work to make. Buy the staples and then the maintenance of eating well. Don’t try this plan if you are short on time. You would have to really cook all day and do a lot of freezing. But the flavors in these meals are great. Also once you make the main dish you still have side dishes to make. I wish there was a meal all planed out so pairing would be easier.

Dr. D’Adamo’s theories are, I believe, controversial, AND this book is helpful for me as I seek to discover more new recipes for Type A blood. (The recipe for salmon is wonderful!) I actually loaned this book out just today to a friend who is learning to live with a new diagnosis.
I purchased this cookbook for my sister. She has not said much about it so I am unsure if she enjoyed it. I however, follow the meal suggestions to the “t” and I have lost over 15 pounds and feel much better. Diet is 80% and working out is 20% of lifestyle holistic change/improvement. Grateful for the information shared, easy read.
Good selection of stuff i’ll ACTUALLY make
Obviously this is a cook book, so some recipes look great, while others make me want to gag… but it’s all about preference.
Love to cook healthy and this makes it easy
The information and the recipes in this book are really useful. The time it takes to prepare and cook most of the meals is so short that it makes my life easier. (Note: work 110+ miles from home and travel back and forth daily). With long commute daily and limited time to do other things, having a book that allows you to cook healthy and still have fun in the kitchen is a big blessing. Wonderful book!!!
Glad I bought this and use it all the time.
Easy to follow recipes and everyone that I have tried has come out tasty. I have found some favorites that I make over and over again. Some recipes I would like to try but I am having difficulty finding the ingredients. That is the only reason I have rated this a 4 and not a 5. I will say that ever since I have been following the Eat Right for Your Blood Type, my blood pressure has gone done and remains in the normal range and I feel great. I am maintaining weight rather than gaining. When I eat something that I am not supposed to, I do feel the indigestion. So having this cookbook really helps me to plan meals.
