As a professional (Architect) interested in learning about current currents in the market, I thought this could be a great start, as I had done with other ‘for Dummies’. However, the author assumes that the reader is ready to learn by doing, and is embarking on a life betterment track. It might be that many are, but I’m not into it like that (at least not yet). Hence, it might be a great guide book for the ‘do-it-yourself’ person, but less of a reference book for the ‘need to know’ person/occupation.

good start for getting references

lots of info about black hat feng shui, i have other books and just recently started to explore. it talks about also the items you may want to buy to increase the tranquility of your home and the energy flow, as well as the ‘lucky ‘ part, which i take with a big can of salt. i believe in chi, but i don’t believe the luck part. that is up to the individual person. but the flow and placement of objects for airflow and tranquility , I’m all for. clutter is also not feng shui.

I’m currently halfway through the book and am loving it. I chose the For Dummies series on this topic because I wanted a structured and informative introduction to the art of Feng Shui from a reliable source. As with all For Dummies books, there is a lot of repetition, but that tactic is just for reinforcement of the core ideas they’re teaching you (and I think it works). And also as with all For Dummies books, the structured and intro-level writing style is very helpful for a true beginner.

Excellent tutorial!

This book was required reading for a seminar I was taking on Feng Shui. I gave me a good basic understanding before I started my classes.

Very comprehensive and wonderful read! There’s a lot here

Very comprehensive and wonderful read! There’s a lot here. Along with “Move your Stuff, Change your life” (which is short) this is a thorough companion.

I literally have a stack of Feng Shui books almost a foot high. This book is full of information that none of the others were able to supply. It brought all of the ‘loose ends’ together, and made clear, without question, everything that needs to be done…how…and why.
