For beginners thinking of starting meditation. Nothing detailed or complicated.
Just like the title says this ebook is for absolute beginners. If you already have experience with meditation and are looking for creative new techniques this ebook is not for you. This is for people who have never meditated in their lives and don’t have a clue what it is. Very simple quick ebook.
As a practitioner of yoga and meditation I am interested in learning from other people’s experiences, techniques and point of view. Lisa’s book for beginners is simple and concise yet still has something to offer even for experienced practitioners. I enjoyed the weightlifting analogy of a restless mind “It’s like a weight-lifter lifting weights. If they practiced with no weights at all, the practice wouldn’t be much good. Those bouncing thoughts in your brain are your weights.” Traveling the path of mindfulness has been life changing and has enabled me to look at annoyances and stressful situations as opportunities to practice.
Ease into the benefits of meditation with this book.
It’s such a short book on meditation, that there’s really no excuse not to give it a try, if you’ve been considering trying out meditation. There’s no guilt, no obstacles, and no reason, not to give five minute meditation a try. What do you have to lose, your problems, troubles, and distractions for a bit of much needed and deserved rest and relaxation time to yourself to unwind, almost anywhere, and at anytime?
even five minutes of meditation a day should help relieve stress
Right after reading a book on meditation is too soon to really review it. There are several ideas here that seem to be helpful for someone just beginning to meditate. Lisa Shea has thought about what questions might come up in the mind of someone interested in trying it out.
Simple and direct
I am not trying to become a guru, I’m trying to learn about calming myself and getting in touch with ME. This little book seems like just the ticket to learn how to begin that process. It is well written and basic. Thank you Ms. She’s.
Excellent resource for beginners
I want to applaud Lisa on her altruism. Thank you for understanding the true meaning of sharing. Now for the information, it was extremely helpful and very well written. It presented me, a true novice, with a sense that I can do this. I will definitely read your other works.
This book is very short, but it is a great introduction to meditation. The author has some great alternatives to sitting still and “clearing your mind”. If you are new to meditation or you struggle with meditating even for a few minutes, this is an excellent beginning.
I would recommend this book for anyone who is completely clueless about meditation but wants to know how to get started. The author is very informal, perhaps even to the point of being tacky in her voice to the reader. She provides good ideas to get started and simple steps to follow. This just isn’t the book that I was wanting.
I’ve been wanting to get into meditation and this was the first book I picked to help me get started. The lessons are well understood and extremely helpful. I am up to 15 minute sessions now and the practice is truly a positive in my life! Thanks Lisa!
Short read with lots of information
This is a short book with valuable information. 5 minutes daily is all what you need to start this journey. Thank you so much, I’m getting read to give it a try.
