As I expected, this chili is really bland right out of the can. But give it a hefty dose of Ms. Dash and pepper, and this tastes really quite good for those of us whose tongues have become accustomed to low sodium diets.

Surprisingly Good

Quite tasty and smooth for a store-bought, let alone canned product. Definitely tastes better (fuller, richer) than the boxed brands. We are mostly vegetarian so don’t accumulate enough chicken bones to make homemade stock with any regularity (the best broth is homemade!). Critical to my heart health is No Added Sodium (cheap junk table salt = Sodium). The healthy and equally tasty alternative to low- or no-sodium intake is Pink Himalayan Salt which contains all the major minerals (electrolytes) plus all minor (trace) minerals—not just sodium alone, out of balance with nature. So, when homemade from scratch isn’t an option, it works out perfectly for me to purchase No Added Salt products then add my own complete mineral salt. Note: because this has no added sodium, it can be reduced without intense, unpleasant over-saltiness. I’d only want for this, as with all food, to be Organic. First dozen cans I just used up, buying again now.

A Tasty, Healthful, and Useful Choice

This is a delicious soup, and the no-salt-added feature makes it a useful addition to improve other soup products that are too salty. The colorful, fresh-looking vegetables are a plus. A disadvantage is the occasional potato cubes, but I try to pick them out and discard them. I understand that there has to be a little sugar or the soup would taste sour and flat. But adding potatoes on top of the sugar is a mistake, because people who don’t want sodium also tend not to want a lot of starch, which is digested as sugar. Another disadvantage is the price charged at Amazon. There seems no good reason why each can should be so expensive. But we love this product and hope you will continue to carry it (especially at a better price!).. I should add that the Customer Service at the shop offering this is superb. I got immediate responses about a delivery and perfect help.

A great buy for anyone trying to avoid the high salt content of regular chili

I love chili – in principle, Chili can be a healthy, good food item, however, virtually all canned chili preparations come with an astonishingly high salt content: Most Chili cans on the market have about 1000 mg of Sodium per serving, or essentially the entire recommended daily salt intake per two servings. For anyone trying to avoid excess salt, it is not possible to consume these regular chili preparations, no matter how “healthy” they claim to be.

I ran into an old can of this the other night so I used it. Wow. This is so much better than the boxes that I’ve been using steadily for the last year or so. For two nights I had delicious white rice (Lundberg–fantastic!) made with this, olive oil, Hawaiin sea salt (low- in sodium), pepper, dried parsley and cumin. It has a teeny bit of body and even fat droplets, which, let’s face it, is where the flavor is. I came back to buy another load and saved a couple of bucks via Subscribe and Save.

Dented cans are not a plus

This is a great tasting soup in just the right size for 1 or 2 person’s eating. The low sodium content, (15 mg per 1 cup) is a serious consideration in maintaining reasonable salt intake. The product has the American Heart Association seal of approval, and considering the fact that it is very difficult finding low salt canned soups in local markets, I’m happy to buy this product online. The only downside holding back a 5 star rating is the fact that several bent cans were in the package.

I like this chili!

I know others have panned this chili, but I have bought it in stores and liked it, so I knew what I was getting. The cans arrived in great condition, as Amazon wrapped the case in bubble wrap and then boxed it. The chili itself is a mild chili, and I spice it up with some hot sauce. This chili seems a little thicker than the ones I’ve bought in the stores, and that is fine. I also add in some quinoa puffs (if I have them) and some cheddar cheese on top. It makes a great dinner!

Really Great Soup!

Positively my most favorite of the Health Valley Organic No Salt Added Soups. This is a fantastic product at an unbeatable price. It’s impressive how the calories are so low and the sodium is insanely low. I do take my “dash” measuring spoon and add that much salt so it’s palatable. But if you are strictly restricted and don’t want to make your own, this is the way to go.

Absolutely love this broth

Not available?? Not fair! I use this chicken broth for rice, soups, anything that liquid in cooking is needed. Absolutely love this broth. Add a bit of crushed thyme, turmeric and parsley, cook it down a bit and you have a good winter time cup of broth (much better than the cubes or crystals.) Add carrots, celery, onion and shredded chicken to the mix for a more hearty soup. Use this a a base for pea soup or mushroom soup. Makes a good gravy (reduce it to intensify the flavor.) So many ways this broth works. Please get this back Amazon! Winter is coming and we are running out.

This product has excellent taste for a low sodium product. I have tried several other Health Valley soups but, so far, this is the only one that seems worth the price. There are almost no truly low sodium soups with decent taste but I liked it well enough to order a whole case. Free shipping with prime and slightly cheaper than local groceries. I liked this product so well that I gave it an excellent review on my webite (nosaltzone.net) with a link to Amazon.
