one thing I do not like is there are no pictures at all for any …

I got this cookbook because my boyfriend and I are trying to eat healthier and are running out of ideas.. baked chicken with veggies get old obviously haha! But, one thing I do not like is there are no pictures at all for any of the recipes. I like to be able to get an idea of what I am actually making.. so that’s a bummer. Another thing, I know I am not a health guru like some are but I try and this book was kind of hard to follow. I hadn’t heard of a lot of the ingredients so I had to google what they were to even understand what I was going to be trying to make. I do not live off fast food and I love cooking a lot so this was kind of a bummer! I don’t know, maybe I need to order “How to eat healthy for idiots” instead! If you don’t need pictures and you can decipher plants from sea food then maybe this is the cook book for you!
Love this Cookbook!

I love this cookbook. It is just my husband and me now as the kids are grown and out of the house. We have tried several recipes in this book and all have been delicious. Plus very little, if any, leftovers. I used to make such large quantities and then we would “eat on it” for days, and I would usually end up throwing it out. These recipes are easy, economical and delicious. Thank you for a cookbook like this.
Worth the buy!!

So far I’ve loved almost everything I’ve cooked. I love how organized this book is and how helpful with suggested foods to pair it is. I also love that even though it’s “for 2” it makes larger portions so since we eat a lot, that’s nice. Or if we eat light it’s nice for lunch the next day! My only complaints: the prep time and cook times are way off. Sometimes it takes me 2 hours to prep and cook a meal when the prep and cook times say 30minutes. Unless you do all your chopping/grating etc ahead of time, prepare for longer cooking periods. This one may be kind of small but for some reason it really bothers me… In one recipe, Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry, the ingredients tell you 1/4 sweet onion, cut into 1/4 inch thick slices but the instructions never mention what to do with the onion. I’m a strict follow the instructions type so of course, I didn’t think to add the onion initially. I had to add it later and that bothers me… Anyways, it’s definitely worth the buy. The food is almost always delicious!

Ehh.. There weren’t many recipes that I LOVED, but there were some good weeknight ones. I bought this book as a way to get my fiancé more involved in the kitchen and he noted that the recipes were easy to follow, so that’s a plus! There aren’t many pictures in the book, which makes it hard to know what everything should look like. The only pictures in there are the ones at beginning of each chapter, but with no notes on what each is. That was a negative for me. With that said, food is such a personal thing and you may really enjoy the recipes. It’s a well written cookbook, so it’s worth a try for the price. Edit: Bumping my rating down to 3 stars. I’ve disliked the majority of the recipes that I’ve tried. Healthy eating shouldn’t equal sad eating, so this is a no for me.
I love how the recipes can be doubled very easily

Some amazingly delicious recipes! I love how the recipes can be doubled very easily. These come in so handy especially when the kids are gone to grandmas for the weekend. The best part is the majority of all these recipes are ingredients you all ready have at home. So no need for a special trip to the supermarket. It also has some recipes that are gluten free, dairy free, 30 minute, and one-pot recipes. I love the Sesame veggie stir fry. I loved the ideas of freezing left overs for later. I do that already 🙂 Also it talks about planning ahead. That helps so much to keep on a healthy track. To plan around events, when kids are not home, if your gonna be out for the night. Dealing with leftovers. Also gives you some healthy cooking techniques. Im so glad I got this book to review. I got this book free. I have put a few of these recipes in routine ones:)
Worth every penny!

If you don’t have a big family to cook for and you want to stay healthy, then this cookbook is for you! My husband and I don’t have any children yet so I usually only have to cook for the two of us. I tend to choose the fattening, greasiest food that I can find to cook because that is what I know how to cook. Not anymore, with this cookbook I am back on track and doing much better. The great thing about it is that it tells you what you need to buy to cook everything in the book. That made the book so much better! The recipes in this book show you important nutritional facts such as calories, fat, carbohydrates, sugar, and more. It even has suggestions on what to prepare for dessert. Dessert is a big deal for us. I didn’t pay for this book but even if I did, the review wouldn’t change.
