The Healthy Cookbook for Two is a great book for small households that really only need recipes for two. Cooking for two can be a challenge when fast food is readily available but with this cookbook you can find 175 healthy recipes that are delicious and easy to prepare and some tips in there to leading a healthy lifestyle.

Love it my husband and I are empty nesters and this is perfect!!! I was cooking way too much and not as healthy…we have lowered our cholesterol and are losing some unwanted pounds

I think that this is a great cookbook for people looking to cut down on food waste, when they are only making food for two. Not only do the recipes call for smaller amounts, but they also give you ways to re-use leftovers so that they don’t go to waste. Along with many great recipes, this book also includes tips on grocery shopping for two people, healthy cooking techniques, and it also mentions the importance of planning ahead and planning meals that require similar ingredients throughout the week.

I really enjoyed this book. It tells you what to look for when buying and to make meals ahead of time and plan ahead of time. Making a list does make a difference because it helps cut down spending because you are buying the food you need instead of just tossing it in the basket. It gives recipes in chapters, so they aren’t all listed and confusing to find. One chapter is for salads, one for soups, etc. I liked how in the recipes it gives the nutritional value of each serving. The recipes are easy to cook and don’t take much time. I like how the recipes are just for two instead of more than that. I highly recommend this book for those who don’t know what recipes to start with or who want to have meals ready in short amount of time.

This book changed my life! I struggle so much with making meals for two. I grew up in a big household and making lots of food, so now when I cook I still make too much. I usually tend to have leftovers for about a week and still some left, so there’s a lot of wasted food in the house. This book though is definitely helping out with that. I love how not only are these smaller portions, but they’re healthy and tasty! I also love how most of these items are already in my fridge or pantry so I don’t have to go out of the way to make them. I’ve made a couple of the recipes already and was definitely pleased. I can’t wait to make more! Definitely a great investment!!

I wasn’t sure I’d learn anything from this book, because I’m already a good planner and shopper. Honestly though, I don’t think I’ve ever “braised” anything before. This book had some good pointers on shopping and storage that I hadn’t considered—like how much produce I throw away because I bought a big bag of it. I love the recipes, and that many can be prepared easily without an absurd amount of leftovers. I don’t really need salad recipes, but the other recipes are divided into weekday (faster, easier meals that require less prep) and weekend, which require more time and effort. I love the soup recipes in particular—I’ve never even seen a minestrone recipe for less than 8 people until I found this book.

My house has a room called a kitchen that I just don’t know what to do with it. This book was fun to read and the recipes looks like I could even do them. I look forward to getting that meal plan done and begin experimenting with those big boxes, one hot the other cold, that inhabit that strange room.

This is a useful guide for busy couples who do not have time to make dinner at home and lunches for work. It gives detailed and informative suggestions on how to plan dinners with overlapping ingredients and how to save time preparing various dishes over the course of the week. It talks about the value of cooking at home and being able to spend quality time with your loved one, being able to save money and staying healthy since you could pretty much monitor your food intake. The book caters to couples or friends as the title suggests, but might also be quite helpful to a couple with a small child, especially if they want to start their tot on healthy sophisticated dishes. Shares some awesome healthy recipes, too!

Love the way that this book separates weekday meals and meal planning from weekend meals and meal planning! This cookbook has so many ideas for delicious and healthy cooking, and has recipes that could please even the pickiest of eaters. I’m most excited about the Fish and Chips recipe, as that is one of my all time favorites but is not known for it’s health benefits. Looking forward to trying it out with a healthy spin on it. Along-side some excellent recipes this book also shows some great techniques for meal-planning, shopping, and leftover considerations. The recipes are easy enough for me to follow, and I am a beginner with cooking.

The first mention I’d like to make is that every recipe is labeled with food sensitivity notifications which is awesome! Having family members with various food allergies and sensitivities makes skimming this book for a recipe super easy to find something that accommodates those family members with special ingredient limitations. There are several recipes that I am excited to try out, others do seem too adventurous for my palette, but I definitely know people that would enjoy them so I could always cook for them or share the recipe. All in all, I like the scaled down portions for creating 2-person recipes since growing up in a big family – I tend to cook for an army with only 2 people in my house.
