Great collection of recipes
I bought this book for my mum as she likes vegitarian cooking. Many of the recipes I even liked, especially the white pizza. Will be showing my mum these recipes so we have a little more variety of things to eat. Well put together and great for vegetarians.
For a healthier life
Author, nutritionist and chef Bindi Wetzel has published a large number of books about vegetarian foods including her popular PLANT BASED series on nutrition, and recipes, Vegetarian cooking, and even how to grow vegetables. This book is a very helpful, easy to follow recipe book for making Vegetarian Lunches, but it is so very much more than that.
Nice selection of vegetarian recipes
Full disclosure – I was asked to review this book and was given a free copy of it. While I am not a vegetarian, I recognize the health benefits of being one. I personally follow a more Primal/Paleo way of eating, but part of that is incorporating a lot of plant-based foods, especially vegetables, into my diet.
A gentle how to on how to transition into a vegetarian lifestyle.
Reading this book I can’t help but feel the authors passion, it was like sitting down with the cool aunt who pass out sage advice on the how to of life, the recipes in this book are delicious, but what I especially loved was the authors approach to getting folks to transition to a vegetarian diet, she begins by listing the various types of vegetarians, how to successfully make the transition as its a lifestyle and not the latest fad, she gives real advice on food alternatives such as diary and natural sugars, while the author herself has no food allergies and do incorporate some diary, she gives the readers choice, I felt like she held my hands and took me on a supermarket shopping to transition into a new way of life, there are so many delicious options and even a new twist on favorites, the nutty asparagus had my mouth watering, tomatoes with collards, now a very interesting twist on potato salad, I have been incorporating apple cider vinegar in my diet and never did it cross my mind to add it to a potato salad, that is a new twist when I think of the ingredients coming together with the spicy mustard its like a melody in the mouth. even listed are some sandwich recipe. this vegetarian cookbook has simple, delicious recipes that are simple to prepare and nutritious, but what I loved most like I stated, was the authors approach, she made you feel like yes I can do this!!! I can make this a permanent lifestyle change, the author Bindi Wetzel has a way to draw the reader in and gives wise, sound advice while teaching you a whole new way to make the transition painlessly and effortlessly.

Good, non-scary introduction to a vegetarian diet
Bindi Wetzel has compiled a very nice little collection of non-scary dishes for people who are looking to move more into a plant-based diet. By non-scary, I mean that most of them are familiar dishes such as potato and pasta salad, grilled cheese, salads, and so forth, and that most can be prepared without a lot of ingredients that are unfamiliar to people who aren’t vegetarians yet, things like seitan and tempeh and the like. This is definitely a service to beginning vegetarians.
Not Just for Lunch
There’s a nice selection of recipes in this book – enough to please every taste! And you certainly don’t need to think of these as only “lunch” recipes; many would be excellent choices for a hearty dinner or a dinner side dish as well. A few require prep the night before if you don’t want to be rushed in the morning, but many also do not. Again, something for everyone!
You don’t need a book to figure out that potato salad, slaw, or pizza and chili with the meat omitted are vegetarian. Rated it 3 only because recipes are clearly written.
Vegetarian Made Simple
Wonderful recipes to get you started on a vegetarian diet. They are easy to read and easy to make. The author has found wonderful recipes that anyone can recreate. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in the vegetarian lifestyle!!
