This book should be studied in school around age 9-11! Relationships cause a huge pain in our lives and no one taught us any of that stuff!

John Gray is awesome. This book is helpful at whatever stage of dating you’re in. Gray says that you cannot make someone love you more, but you can create a situation where it’s possible to discover the love that could be there or is there. A lot of this knowledge just makes things smoother, and makes some things that could be turned into misunderstandings less unnecessarily painful and damaging to an emerging relationship.

It was a helpful book to read about how to weather the ups and downs of playing the “dating game.” Which is something I needed after trying to start dating again after a ten year relationship ended.

Mars and Venus on a Date is more insight into how men and women look at the world differently. I haven’t put these nuggets of insight into use long enough to verify that they will greatly improved one’s dating life. Here are some pros & cons (from the guy perspective):

It seemed like everything unfolded just as the book said it would

I bought this book over 4 years ago after many failed relationships. I read it several times and decided to apply the philosophy to my next date. Well it worked because we’ve now been married almost 2 years. It seemed like everything unfolded just as the book said it would. I highly recommend it to all!

Hot advice from old fashioned wisdom

More than a contrived “how to” manual, Mars and Venus on a Date offers an anthropological reasoning for why women and men differ in approaches to, and goals for relationships. Ladies, your Grandma and Mommy told you to hold off giving sex to guys but author Gray tells you why – really, neuroscientifically. Men don’t get any lessons from this book, but they wouldn’t be reading it anyway because they are all just off looking for renewable arm candy. Men don’t really want relationships with women, but alpha status among other males, gained through showing off sexual prowess, according to the author.

The dating life makes so much more sense!

I love this book! John Gray is expert on every facet of relationships. I read his book, “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” and loved it so much I bought it. It really helped me understand the difference between men and women. His “Mars and Venus on a Date” really helped me expound on the total differences between men and women.

From a guy to other guys, read this book!

I’m a 50 something divorced guy, I’d never given thought to “stages of dating”. I knew I felt different things as a relationship progressed, but had never been tried to pinpoint just what it all was about.

I wish I read this before dating again…….

I learned a lot from this book. The author really gives you all the information you need to enter the dating scene as he pulls from his first book, “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus”. I’m sure that if I had read it before meeting my last date, we would still be together. As he says in the book, a lot of people meet (then lose) their soul mate without even knowing it because they don’t go through the necessary phases of dating. I’m one of them. Great book and I’ve recommended to some of my friends and family.
