Ready to transform my life with 5 minute meditations!
What a perfect book for the new year! I read this book recently and was truly inspired to begin a meditation practice in my life. Honestly, I thought Kathyrn’s style was smart, thoughtful, and action inspiring. With little experience in meditation, her meditation guide provided very clear ways to enter into a practice of meditation without a lot of bells and whistles. I always imagine meditation being an hour-long process with a teacher or guided audio track. This book made it clear that meditation can be broken into small chunks of five minutes. Five minutes to a better 2016! I am definitely ready to transform my life for the better.
Simple and effective
I do some meditation using a few of these techniques, but was pleasantly surprised to find more ways to try. Deftly explained and simple to follow.
Short and sweet
This was a short but detailed guide to meditation ,written to help everyone and anyone. easy to do,I started the breathing method while reading and actually felt calmer almost immediately! I’ve been unexpectedly out of work with an injury- I wish I started this 12 weeks ago if not years ago. definitely recommend
Very happy with the descriptions of this book. I like how everything was pulled together at the end. Informative and practical
Kathryn made a somewhat daunting practice easy to understand. 5 minutes is doable. I can feel myself relaxing already. Thanks, Kathryn!
Quick and easy-NO excuses not to do this!
I read the book, with run-throughs of the techniques, all in about 25 minutes. I am a complete beginner with meditation. This book gave me a great start to meditation techniques that I feel I can easily accomplish, and fit into my schedule. I have set a daily reminder and I am very excited about this addition to help me live a healthy life. Interestingly, I discovered that I already “meditate”, rather accidentally, when I hike and climb mountains; I often count my steps and clear my mind of all else. Now that I know about using this as a meditation technique, I can go about it more deliberately and gain even more benefit!
It just wasn’t much help to me in advancing my poor meditative skills
I am always hoping for more. This is a quick read, and I think it’s worth the time. It just wasn’t much help to me in advancing my poor meditative skills. Kathryn offers good insights and help, but I think the title should be your guide if your looking for in depth treatment on the subject.
Kathryn taps into the most enriching aspects of meditation and her easy, clear writing makes it accessible for anyone. The book’s an easy read. The exercises are great and set up so you can weave them into your daily routine. Even after a week, I’ve found that little daily meditations add up to make a big difference.
