Fun process

The trick to this is to have fun with it. At first I thought I was going to have to spend a lot of money & re-arrange everything, but this is not the case. I did end up spending under $50, but that was my preference, not necessary. The rest I can do with colored paper. The process makes you more attentive to things you are probably neglecting, such as: health, finances and the other life areas. Color does have power and vibration and light does effect us; ever have to sit under florescent lights with no natural light? Most people do and I think it is very stressful and helps contribute to much of the workplace misery. There are tips for office management in this book, but the focus is on your home and it’s not something just for the richest one percent. All of us can perform feng shui with re-cycled goods, paper, tape & fabric. You can hide many of the solutions too and keep your decor. I don’t know yet if it works, but it certainly can’t hurt to take the directions & suggestions. It took me 3 days to read the book and make easy household changes, and the last part of the book is ongoing affirmations to help work on positive outlook. If you are cleaning out your house and garage, you’ve already stepped into the process, so why not try some easy feng shui and see what happens?

For anyone who has either been just confused by the many different schools of Feng Shui, or just wants to start from scratch with an extremely practical guide, this is it.

Great book for those looking to add some Feng Shui techniques into their home.. This book makes it easy for beginners to learn about and practice the laws and cures of Feng Shui. The author is spunky and makes Feng Shui fun, practical and EASY to understand unlike many other books that I have tried. I just purchased a new home and I’m obsessed with this book and love the idea of applying what I read to my home decor!

Excellent resource to letting go of clutter.

This is also a good Feng Shui. I’m new to this practice and I think this book did a great job with tackling the clutter. I am a paper hoarder, always hanging onto documents and pages I rip from magazines. It piles up quickly. This book really helped me break away from my inner paper hoarding habits. Feng Shui really does work. When you let go of finished projects and clutter, you open yourself up to new, more exciting projects. Very easy to read and understand. And I think it did a tremendous job explaining why people hold onto stuff. It was also sensitively written which i thought was really nice of the author to be empathetic to people who hang onto items.

Information Is Generally Good

I enjoy Feng Shui material and have read just about everything I can find on the subject. So, to me this was generally informative, though not new ideas. As a personal preference, I didn’t care for the writing style. (Sort of the “Hey, Girlfriend” mode.) Other reviewers obviously like it. I do like the author’s reminder that very small things can make a big difference in how one views their home and the resulting changes that can make in other things. She points out the reasonableness of Feng Shui, which is not always explained well in other sources.

I made a huge mistake with this book the first time but I won’t do that again. I purchased this book originally in the Spring of 2003 as an impulse from a book club to fulfill an obligation. It wasn’t too expensive and it just sounded like a curious title.

Love this book – its my first introduction to Feng Shui through books

This book takes all of the FAQ’s about what Feng Shui is with regards to decorating and the ancient art and clearly, with wit and humor perfectly woven in, takes you step by step through each part of the house and gives specific examples of applying the art of Feng Shui to clean up every area of your life! It’s liberating to know that there is a reason to decorate a room and specific areas of the room – which helps a person as myself who has little sense of decorating. I love her simple explanations at the beginning that take you through an introduction of Feng Shui and that she says it’s not a religion – thus easing my Christian mind about some of the ridicules of this ancient art. I want to express my gratitude to Karen Rauch Carter for her excellent book ( and ah, I was reminded in her book of being grateful each day)

Fantastic book…It really did change my life! I absolutely recommend it. Simple little changes and easy solutions made a world of difference. It really is amazing how redirecting energy and moving stuff to the proper bagua areas of the house actually changed my life.
