'Rarely do I ever find myself agreeing with everything I read in a book. But Parenting the Wholehearted Child is the book I wish I'd written. Jeannie has given parents a profound gift within its pages.'
-Kathie Lee Gifford, actress, singer, playwright, songwriter, and co-host of the Today Show's Fourth Hour

Your kids aren't perfect. And you don't have to be either.

Are you exhausted from the pressure to be a perfect parent raising perfect children in this imperfect world? Do you ever wonder, 'How did these precious children get stuck with a parent like me?' If so, let these grace-drenched pages saturate your heart with God's unfailing love while also equipping you to be a vessel of God's unconditional love to your children.

With authenticity, conviction, and a lively sense of humor, Jeannie guides you on a transformative journey into raising wholehearted—not perfect—children, who live from the freedom found in being wholeheartedly loved (and liked!) by God.

Parenting the Wholehearted Child equips you with biblical wisdom and practical ideas to teach your children that they are fully accepted by God, not because of anything they do or don't do but because of everything Jesus has already done for them.

Woven throughout the book is the good news that it is God's extravagant grace—not your perfect performance—that transforms the hearts of children.

A most welcome message

 on November 16, 2016

I read this book on the recommendation of a friend in our small group at our church. I had been lamenting the difficulties of adjusting to life with a newly minted teenager and she pressed this book into my hands. Even though the book is targeted more to parents with young children she assured me it would help. She was right.

My heart feels at peace.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I appreciate the author’s information and candidness. My only regret is that I purchased the kindle edition. I am normally an avid fan of reading electronic copies of texts, but this is the first book I have read in a very long time that I wanted to highlight, dog-ear, and write notes throughout so that I could share is with my husband. I am truly excited to begin changing the climate of my household by extending grace through my parenting.

This book is a must read!

Jeannie offers a groundbreaking gift in her book, Parenting the Wholehearted Child as she offers readers the truth that we don’t have to be perfect to let our kids know that they are perfectly loved. She extends grace after grace on every page as she artfully and humorously tells us the story of how accepting God’s grace for herself has allowed her to extend grace to her children in a way that lets them taste the freedom that comes from a relationship with Jesus. As a marriage and family therapist, it will be my #1 recommendation. And as a parent, it will be my #1 resource. Enjoy!

Best biblically based parenting book I’ve read

 on September 3, 2017
By Hannah S.
I loved this book so much. It’s so in line with scripture and with how we want to raise our kids. One of my favorite things about it was that, more than other books I’ve read like Shepherding a Child’s Heart, I felt like she gave so many great ideas for practically applying the biblical principals in parenting younger children.

Love love!

Thank you so much for writing this book! I can’t even begin to describe how much I needed it! I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with the constant fight with kids, disciplining all day everyday, yelling, defeat, cold hearts… Etc. this way of parenting will be life changing.

I loved the book. It was grace based, Christ centered. What I loved most was the practical aspect in the second half. Would definitely recommend this!!

Awesome book full of godly wisdom

I have read many books on how to raise children, but this one resonated with me more than any other book I’ve read before. Each page just oozed with godly wisdom and I just know that what Jeannie Cunnion is saying in this book is the way to go for our family! It is so grace-filled and based on building up trust with the children, which is what I love the most about what Jeannie Cunnion is saying in her book. Wonderful book!

Real and practical ideas on sharing and being Jesus with kids

 on June 11, 2014
By Family18
I was looking for a book that gave very real and practical ways to share Jesus with my kids (toddler and elementary age) and give them the gift of scripture hidden in their hearts. This book did that and then some! I’ve underlined so much of this book that I’ve asked my husband to read it again with me as we struggle to share our faith with our little ones in ways that we never thought of before. I’m not one to recommend books without being ask (though I’m going to recommend this to my sisters and friends) and I’ve never even written an amazon review before but this book is well worth the read!

A breath of GRACE

 on April 8, 2014

I need to re-read the message of grace in this book EVERY DAY! As a rule follower and a rule enforcer, I focus too much on my kids actions. This book reminds me that what REALLY matters is my relationship and my child’s relationship with Christ. Getting to know God and rest in what he has already done for us can be the best fuel for our parenting. PTWC reminds us of this truth in a very down-to-earth way and also provides very useful practical tips for keeping this focus.
