Replace Every Year for Best Results

Replace the shaving heads every year to keep your shaves close and comfortable. The shaving blades are easy to replace.Switch off the razor and disconnect it from the power outlet.Press the release button to open the shaving unit.Turn the lock anticlockwise (1) and remove the retaining frame (2).Remove the shaving heads and place new ones in the shaving unit.Make sure that the projections of the shaving heads fit exactly into the recesses.Put the retaining frame back into the shaving unit and turn the lock clockwise.Close the shaving unit until you hear a click.

Note: If the shaving unit does not close smoothly, check if you have inserted the shaving heads properly and if the retaining frame is locked.

10 years ago when I bought my first SpeedXL replacement HQ9 blades, I put an index card in the medicine cabinet with the date I replaced the blades last. I have replaced them every 10-14 months since, and always with Norelco HQ9 heads. I’ll say that every year it’s like night and day when I replace them. Honestly I probably should do it every 9 months because the cut quality is SO much better with new heads. I’ll keep buying these until the shaver dies. I’ve been impressed it’s lasted almost 10 years so far with no issues.

Just like new shaver with these!

Like many other people, I vacillated between purchasing new shaver heads or just buying a new shaver. I just bought a new shaver for a gift that cost about half of what these heads cost! But in the end I bought these for my 9160xl that has been a great shaver since its purchase in 2007. I think this is the second set of replacement heads in that nine year period! My shaver was getting a bit noisier recently and I noticed I had to make more passes while shaving to do the same job. I thought maybe the motor was to blame but I was wrong as when I put in these new blades and foils, the shaver immediately quieted down and my shave was very quickly done. Noticed the new blades were a bit harsh on my skin, but then I remembered that it takes around three weeks for the blades to break in to a persons face. Even though my skin was a bit irritated, the shave itself was extremely close and blade smooth. Norelco is the best shaver for me, with these blades also being the best for me (I’ve tried hq8, comfort cut, and hq56 super lift and cut, to mention only some).

Good blades but understand that this product is ONLY the 3 blades, and not a "head".

Unit worked as promised and the price was a lot cheaper than getting it in the store. It was retail packaging. My only issue – which was really my fault – was assuming that the assembly inside the watch (which holds the blades) was included. In fact, what you get is just the 3 round rotating blades. What happened to my razor was that the internal assembly that holds the blades in place broke, so I decided to replace the entire unit. Again, likely my fault for not making sure I was getting what I needed (the internal assembly and the blades). But, I continued to use the broken assembly and the blades worked very nicely and gave a clean, close shave.

Happy to get new life out of my electric razor again with these new replacement heads.

Exact fit to replace my old ones… and what a difference. I waited too long to replace them, forgot how dull they were. It had almost been 3 years! I wouldn’t go that long, but they did hold up. The company recommends every 12 months. Shaving just takes longer as the blades dull. It’s nice to shave quicker again and smoother too. Happy to get new life out of my electric razor again with these new replacement heads.

I should have change the shaver head a lot sooner, it made the world of a difference, in the time and quality of the shave. So I guess I can say that sometimes being frugal can come back to bite you, and this was one of those times. Let me explain, I wanted to be sure that I was not wasting money replacing the head of my shaver to soon. The only problem with this is that as the shaver head gradually wears down, it is hard to notice that it is taking longer and more passes to get a good shave.

Makes your old razor like new again

A couple of years ago, I bought my husband a new Norelco Sensotouch razor to replace his old razor. First, the charging stand on the new razor wouldn’t work, so he ended up using the cord from his old razor to charge the new one. Then, right after the warranty had expired, the new razor wouldn’t turn on at all. Fortunately, he still had the old razor. I ordered these replacement heads, he popped them into the old razor, and it’s working good as new again! That’s what I should have done in the first place!

I have been using my norelco shaver for eight years. I replace the heads every year just like the book says too, and because my face gets more irretated if as I get close to the end of the year, the shave usn’t as smooth. After installing these new heads the smooth shave is back and the irretation is down.
