As I move into this new frontier known as DE shaving I’m glad to have found this soap. The Proraso shaving soap arrived quickly and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I was able to work up a nice lather without much work (or knowledge). The smell was great, not over bearing and very enjoyable. As my first soap I don’t think I could have made a better choice, but then again I’m a it is my only soap so what do I know? If you’re starting out and you want an easy to use, fresh smelling, make your face feel good shaving soap look no further than this one.

Worth it. All you can say, it’s worth the price.

Simply the best that I have found (and I have tried 4 others, including WalMart’s). As much as I hate to admit it (me being a senior and on fixed income and all), it just is worth the few extra dollars for the quality of the facial lubrication and shave it offers. In fact, given how well this lathers with 3 flicks of a badger’s brush, priced out per shave it may not cost more at all. Proraso does have that menthol scent that you have to like, or get used to, or both, but it is very tolerable and it does not seem to bother folks with perfume sensitivities. (We square dance, and you just can’t have heavy scents in a room of sweaty old people on a southern night without somebody getting “the vapors”). So if you can use the less expensive stuff, congratulations. Otherwise, you can count on this Proraso.

Excellent shaving soap for new and experienced DE shavers.

I started DE shaving with the Proraso Green Tub soap and I can’t see myself changing to a different product for the time being. This soap lathers into a rich creamy lather that provides easy gliding for your razor blade and a light refreshing feeling on your skin. The feeling even gets better after you wash it off as it leaves the skin smooth and soft unlike those “foam in a can” products I was using before.

I’ve tried all of Proraso shaving products. I think I like this better than the toothpaste tube shaving cream¬†

This shaving soap does not disappoint

I am a newbie to the art of shaving. At the age of 52, I am finally getting rid of the Gillette Mach 3 and Electric Razors and shaving like man should.

Great soap (at least most of it)

AMAZING FOAM from this soft soap. I first soak my Semogue 830 in warm water for about 1 minute. Then I load up the soap onto my brush by swirling it 15-30 times on the soap. Then I take the brush to a separate lathering bowl where I add a few finger drops of water and then whip it into a nice thick creamy lather. My skin feels soft and conditioned afterwards, with no razor burn. The scent is very mellow and doesn’t linger, so it won’t interfere with your aftershave.

Will never go back!

Proraso Shaving Soap has turned my daily shaving chore into something I actually enjoy. The eucalyptus scent is pleasant and not at all overpowering, my Wife loves the way it smells. I’ve been using the soap for over 6 months now and still am nowhere near the bottom of the jar. Puts the normal foam in a can to shame!

I have been DE shaving for over a year now and tried them all. This soap is simple in compound but delivers. Cold sensation competes with pain neurologically (hence biofreeze and pain relief) and the cooling feeling from the menthol makes the shave extremely comfortable. The Eucalyptus oil gives this soap just the right amount of grab on the hairs to make for the most consistent smoothest shaves I get. Yeah it doesn’t have the shea, and the clay, and the lanolin or tallow and the etherial or funny name blah blah blah but you know what? I get a baby smooth shave with this every time. Sometimes less is more. I don’t need the pre-shave cream but it does add to the comfort and the skin noticeably improves with the pre-shave cream. It takes away from the smoothness of the shave though. I am pairing this with the merkur futur on setting 2.25 and achieve perfect shaves every time. Italian barbers apparently have been using this exclusively for years and I can see why. The scent is a classic barber smell that doesn’t last too long but I only get compliments from those females close enough to my face to smell it. I am 37 years old.
