Happy is good. Holy is better.

Your marriage is more than a sacred covenant with another person. It is a spiritual discipline designed to help you know God better, trust him more fully, and love him more deeply. What if God’s primary intent for your marriage isn’t to make you happy . . . but holy?

Sacred Marriage doesn't just offer techniques to make a marriage happier. It does contain practical tools, but what married Christians most need is help in becoming holier husbands and wives. Sacred Marriage offers that help with insights from Scripture, church history, time tested wisdom from Christian classics, and examples from today's marriages.

Sacred Marriage reveals how marriage trains us to love God and others well, how it exposes sin and makes us more aware of God's presence, how good marriages foster good prayer, how married sex feeds the spiritual life, and more.

The revised edition of Sacred Marriage takes into account the ways men's and women's roles have expanded since the book was first written. It has been streamlined to be a faster read without losing the depth that so many readers have valued.

Sacred Marriage uncovers the mystery of God’s overarching purpose. This book may very well alter profoundly the contours of your marriage. It will most certainly change you. Because whether it is delightful or difficult, your marriage can become a doorway to a closer walk with God, and to a spiritual integrity that, like salt, seasons the world around you with the savor of Christ.

Good Book, Not Outstanding

This book is good but it just didn’t seem to keep my interest up throughout the book. But then again, I’m not an avid reader either. It did make you stop and examine yourself and your motives in your marriage. It also made you thing about how God views marriage vs how today’s society looks at it and has cheapened its meaning to “what’s in it for me.” Overall it was a good book.

I highly recommend this book whether married or single

the book is very engaging and it is honest about the situations of marriages today. It also helps the reader see the other layer of God’s message in the Bible. I highly recommend this book whether married or single.

Good Book to help one understand and to shake modern destruction of marriage of this day and age.

Good book if you want to better understand what marriage is truly supposed to be, also how to better relate to your partner or spouse on a personal level of self recognition and not blame. Helps one to understand marriage on a religious level, rather than a possession level. Let’s one realize marriage is sacred to ones own beliefs, gives great mention to bible passages that are helpful and enlightening.

GREAT, GREAT BOOK! RECOMMEND HIGHLY.

Really deep book! Would recommend to anyone wishing to get married or even considering what marriage truly is all about. Marriage is a ministry and this book makes us see that it’s more than two people coming together. Great book so take your time reading and highlighting the “OH YEAH” parts!

I started reading a little of this and have yet to finish it but so far so good! I put it down for a while to read and study my bible but the few chapters I got through were great! I plan to pick this up once I am done with fasting for our church!

A step in the right direction!

Good book with tons of info that should be helpful to any couple struggling with marriage issues. It would be most helpful if both parties read the book or better yet read it together.

This is the book I reference for myself. Teaches the reader to view marriage as relationship that draws us nearer to Christ inspite of our own selfishness within our marriage. Not a book that fixes your spouse, it is a book that encourages you.

Deep and Thought Provoking

This book is phenominal. It is very biblically based and causes the reader to look deep within to examine and confess flaws and short-comings particularly in the areas of grace, love and sacrifice. A true eye opener for the married believer. A book that should be pre-requesite reading for all couples entertaining marriage.

Whether you are single or married, you have to read this book. It is a life changer. It helps you better understand how to love your spouse and others. As a matter of fact, do what I’m doing: Read it twice, or you could say it’s my third time because I also listened to the book on CD.
