Beth Bradley has a problem. Everyone is expecting her successful music executive boyfriend, Charlie, to be her date for her best friend’s wedding. There’s one hitch: Charlie doesn’t exist. Unless she can think of something fast, she’s headed for the most humiliating weekend of her life.
Alex Tanner has a problem. The former Navy SEAL's search for a double agent lands him at the Kensington Hotel, and he needs a cover to finish the job. When the sexy maid of honor blackmails him into pretending to be her lover, he thinks he's been handed the solution.
Except Beth has a way of stumbling into trouble, and when the man Alex is hunting starts targeting Beth, Alex has to decide between solving the mystery or protecting the woman who has stolen his heart.
Part romantic comedy, part thriller, and filled with plenty of intrigue, The Wedding Trap is the first novel in the Second Service contemporary romance series.
Praise for The Wedding Trap
THE WEDDING TRAP is a contemporary romance that has the bent of a romantic suspense with added spice thrown in. The book drew me in and I was immersed in the intrigue immediately…Kept me turning the pages.
This is the first book in the series and I look forward to reading the others and hopefully being reunited with some of the characters we met here. Bell is a new to me author and I will definitely be adding her to my TBR pile.

Wonderfully entertaining with non-stop action, great humor, & romance
Beth’s best friend is getting married, and everyone’s expecting her to show up with the too-perfect-to-be-true boyfriend Charlie — which is a problem because he’s exactly that. Not true. Rather than subject herself to the judgement of her mother, her slimy ex, and everyone else expecting her to have snagged a man, she’s made one up. And now she’s dateless for her best friend’s biggest day. Until she catches a gorgeous man breaking into cars in the hotel parking lot.
I was pleasantly surprised to find another writer. I can add to my favorites along with fern michaels. Janet deleon bell does not disappoint the mystery the storyline kept you entertained could not put the book down until finished i recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery with hint of humour and a little romance she has her own style as do the other favorite authors of mine each one different in their own unique way looking forward to reading more stories from this author this story without giving it away is about a girl who unintentionally witnessed an international plot with a member of the family of her best friend during her friend wedding and an cia agent trying to protect her a must read with action humour and discovering yourself
Very cute story

Haven’t we all been another enough g our parents to tell a story to make us feel better about ourselves. Beth rose that and ends up finding someone she can love. Now if only she can stay alive long enough to enjoy it. This book is funny and exciting enough to keep you reading. Looking forward to more from this talented author.
Steamy, Romantic, With some Action!
This book was entertaining and overall a good read, however the book needs some editing. The book has some funny moments. I did not like how it ended though. I would have liked to seen something bad happen to Spencer LOL. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a light entertaining read that you can read in one setting. It does have several sex scenes, but overall it is a romance novel with some action in it!

The plot is kind of dull and the grammar isn’t great. The romance between the characters happens over the weekend. There are several cheesy parts in this book that just don’t make much sense. Also, there are several grammatical errors in this book.
The Wedding Trap
I really, really liked The Wedding Trap. The mystery man, Charlie, AKA Alex, a car thief, or a gigolo , or was he a member of the CIA? Take your pick, helped Beth save face at a wedding venue where she was maid of honor w/o a date but claimed to have fictitious boyfriend, Charlie… Unfortunately for her she sees a traitorous exchange that leads to attempts on her life. Will gorgeous Charlie save her life, engage her heart?
fun, occasional laugh-out-loud moments
Delightful, I couldn’t put it down. Light, fun, occasional laugh-out-loud moments. The sex wasn’t overbearing and the characters were very likable. The best kind of relaxation reading when you just want to be entertained. As mentioned elsewhere there were quite a few typos. That didn’t stop me from ordering the box set of 4 for the entire series because I enjoyed it in spite of the typos.
More like this please!
this book was great. Who of us hasn’t gotten into an embarrassing situation, or said something we shouldn’t? Not making up a boyfriend perhaps- but gee- wouldn’t it be great if *poof* at the last minute somehow the problem could be fixed- and yes- it gets away from her. She wonders “who is he really??”. I loved it. This is the kind of laughter I like in a romance novel.
Can I have a Charlie/Alex too?

I really liked this story. I could relate to Beth and felt sorry for her. I fell in love with Alex. They make such a well balanced couple. I’m glad it had a happy ending. Thanks Adrienne for the great read.
