There are two kinds of people in the healthy food eating world; the kind that think ‘cauliflower pizza crust’ tastes JUST LIKE OR BETTER than regular, fluffy, flour-y, pizza crust, and the people (like me) who think that is completely bonkers and are super sensitive to ‘substitutions’.

Getting TRIM and HEALTHY with this amazing cookbook!

I have the original Trim Healthy Mama book that had the complete program and recipes in it, so I wasn’t sure if I should get this. I was afraid it would be the same original book repackaged into two new books. Boy, was I wrong. This cookbook is beautiful and there are so many new recipes! My family of 4 that never give me a 100% thumbs up on the Crock Pot Cream Cajun Chicken. (BTW, my husband hates when I pull out our huge old crockpot, but he loved this!) I’ve heard amazing things about other recipes on their Facebook group as well and plan to try the No Cry Brownies, so I will be making those in a little bit. Thanks Serene and Pearl for pouring your heart and soul into these recipes and program! This cookbook is well worth the money whether you already live the THM way or are new to this delicious, healthy way of eating.

Better tasting recipes & more professional looking but calls for lots of specialty items & calls whey protein dairy free

This is a lovely cookbook, I love the improvements on the recipes and the inclusion of recipes from bloggers and others who have adopted and made the plan even better than it was originally. However, there were a couple of things that are really frustrating. 1) Baking Blend (BB): I realize that the book contains a note in the beginning about BB and that they don’t want to you have to buy their name brand products and you can make your own blend, but there are no directions or recipes for it. I know people will probably hate me for saying that, but it’s a cookbook, for goodness sake. If you have a ton of recipes that call for special ingredients, maybe having a substitute recipe for that frequently used ingredient would be helpful. (Yes, I know there are recipes on Pinterest, etc., but what a hassle.) I kept seeing these beautiful pictures and thinking, wow, I’d love to try that! Only to find I had no collagen, no oat fiber, no agar, no baking blend, etc. It was incredibly frustrating. I’d already saved up and purchased special ingredients like (super) Sweet Blend, nutritional yeast, xylitol, raw apple cider vinegar and all that after reading the old book, now I have to stock up again on new special ingredients, especially since I need to do this dairy-free. Oh, and I found a canister of beef gelatin locally but it cost $25! This is not helping convince my husband that I can do this on the cheap.lol.

If you’re serious in to change the way you’re looking, and eat healthier, then you have to buy definitely this book. My sister was the first one in start using it and the change is huge!… then I bought it and I’d seen difference in myself in 6 months, and I haven’t done it like I should!… you can find any kind of food recipes, even desserts, but in the most healthy way!!!… also if you want a bigger support, then look on FB “Trim Healthy Mama” and you could find recipes, and share with the group your experiences and read, see real pictures from other ones!.. I love my book!

I have had this cookbook for about a month now and am new to the plan. I was skeptical about the whole plan/the taste of the recipes. Since then I have tried ten plus recipes and have legitimately liked them all. My picky husband loved the crockpot rich and tender stew, lazy lasagna, and the cry no more brownies. I have loved the salad dressings, mocha frappa, and cakes. Just today I made the banana cake for breakfast tomorrow and it’s delicious!This book is great because they have family servings and single servings and many things are very easy to put together. If you want, there is also the option to do more involved tasks like sourdough starters etc. This book is very clear about allergen options and special ingredients for every recipe. Most special ingredients are easily substituted or omitted. I have been using the golden flax meal for the individual cakes and it has been fine, but I did order their baking blend to try.

Great tasty recipes! 9 months on this program and down 59 pounds. To understand the program though you need the Trim Healthy Mama plan book. This is the complimentary cookbook to that plan with recipes sorted according to S “Satisfying” which are the lower carb recipes for S meals; E “Energizing” which are low fat, and FP “Fuel Pull” which are items low in both fat and carbohydrates. The program balances these three meal types for sustainable weight loss, hormone balance, and healing.

I realize a lot of people don’t like the unusual ingredients. But I wanted to share my take on it. I actually appreciate recipes that taste amazing that have incorporated healthy ingredients like cakes with Whole-Husk Psyllium flakes, sweets made with non GMO sugar alcohols and stevia, added non tasting whey for extra protein, collagen and Gelatin for incredible health benefits, sauces made with Glucomannan or “gluccie” for superb cholesterol levels and regularity, and so many more interesting nutritional ingredients. You are baking and cooking with supplements! You are feeding your family with the most amazing tasting food AND most amazing quality ingredients. I have never seen anything like it.

Awesome cookbook. This cookbook was the beginning for me in putting the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan to work in my life. I have lost weight, sugar levels are returning to normal, and my overall health is improving daily. This is not a diet but a way of life. Eating healthy foods and having food freedom to be able to maintain this lifestyle without all the restrictions of diets. This cookbook is only the beginning. It helps to train you in food combinations for each fuel type your body needs. There are two methods of preparation, the purist for those who want to make everything from scratch, and the drive-by-sue’s whose lifestyle may not afford the time to cook everything from scratch. The drive-by-sue’s approach allow you to buy your products at Walmart, Kroger, etc. with or without any special ingredients. There are tips and hints on how to prepare these meals if you are on a tight budget. Once you begin to use the recipes you may want to checkout the many Trim Healthy Mama Facebook pages where there is a HUGE THM community to answer questions and offer new recipes at the same time. There are recipes in this book for those with food allergies and lots of recommendations on how to adjust the recipes for those allergies. I would recommend buying the Plan as well, simply because it explains all the scientific information behind this eating plan. THIS IS NOT A DIET! This is an alternative way of eating that will rid your body of toxins and inflammation that come from eating the processed foods (frankenfood) so many of us have eaten because we thought we were eating healthy. Every type of diet is very restrictive of the foods you can eat and before long you are sick of all the restrictions and quit. Weight or bad health returns. This is a way of eating for the long haul. At first some of the recipes seem so different than what most of us are used to. However, many folks on the Facebook pages report that when they choose to eat one of the other foods they usually find it doesn’t taste the same or it makes them feel bad. This is because their body is now healthy enough to know when an offending food is eaten. This review is my own experience. I bought the books at full price. I have done Atkins, Keto, Paleo, Caveman Paleo and while I might have been eating okay, I was not losing weight or my sugar levels were not going down. I still use some Keto and Paleo recipes that fall in line with the plan for losing weight. This is the great thing about this program. It is about finding out what your body needs and the freedom to feed it the food that makes it healthy and a trim healthy person. Yes, we have men now following this plan, and teenagers who are tired of being obese and want to feed themselves healthy foods. I for one will never turn back. Cooking is a joy and I love being able to see the pounds fall off. Yes you can eat chocolate cake for breakfast! The recipe is in the cookbook. You can literally have your cake and eat it too as you watch the pounds melt away. You will use ingredients that are healthy and taste yummy at the same time. Many of the single serve cakes can be made in the microwave or baked in the oven. Your choice. That is best thing about this way of eating, the choice is yours to make! It is work to change old habits, but before long it is second nature and your are on your way to a new healthy you.
